We are moving through the eastern part of the "mainland" of Halkidiki, in the broader area of mining activities. The route mainly follows the road network of the region, within a natural landscape of unparalleled beauty and unique biodiversity. It mainly includes sites of mineralogical and economic interest, while observation of modern mining activities is usually done from a distance, as access is restricted. All of this takes place while traveling through the forest that captivated Aristotle in Stagira, which has been designated a "Community Protection Area" of the Natura 2000 network and a "Wildlife Refuge."
It is an easy route that can be driven with a conventional car.
